Had a Blast but it Went by too fast!

Hi Everyone! This week has been a crazy one for sure! Monday I had my Mom's group. As soon as the kids and I walked through the door the power to the entire church went out! Not a very good start! The power came back on about 15 minutes later and the kids were able to go to their class and I was abe to finally get to my group.
Tuesday we had a playdate with one of the mom's from my Monday group. Her name is Carrie and she brought over her youngest son Reed to play with the kids. They al had a really good time palying together. As Carrie and Reed were getting everything packed up to start leaving Mikayla picked up Reed's stuffed monkey and handed it right to him! I was so proud of her! She was making sure that he didn't forget it!
Wednesday was a clean the house day and relax. If the kids did anything on this day I don't remember.
Thursday was a great day for all the little ones! Jasmine and Savahana came over to play! Jasmine is Jonathon's best little friend, and Savanaha and Mikayla are extremely close as well. And they had the best time playing with each other.
Yesterday was Guys night out and girl's night in! When Todd came home from work he quickly got changed and took Jonathon with him over to a friend's. They had a blast while they were out and Mikayla and I had a blast running around the house playing cat and mouse! I sat down for a breather when my cell rang and it was a friend who was in dire need of a babysitter! I told her I was free and just to bring the girls over! About a half hour later our party of 2 turned in to a party of 5! And we had a great time! Joanthon and Todd came home about an hour later and the girls loved playing with him! They left around 11pm and we were finally able to all get to bed.
Today I hoping will be a very uneventful day of lounging around and relaxing!

One of those days!

Today was one of those days where I got trapped inside my own head. I woke up in a fog from a dream and then as I woke up I just wanted to talk but no one was around to listen. Todd had his thing to do and the kids, well they aren't the best at keeping up with an adult conversation. :) So today I spent the day in a fog. Wondering what to do with all the words I had wanted to use. I guess they would have been better spent with a friend over coffee. Tomorrow I guess I will make better use of my words instead of keeping them bottled in my head!

Little Ones like Elephants NEVER Forget!

This morning Jonathon came in right at 8am on the nose and said "Mommy,I need to watch my Mickey Mouse movie!" (A few nights ago he got The 3 Musketeers with Mickey Donald and Goofy and he absolutely loves it!) So blurry eyed and groggy I got up and came in the living room. I usually start my computer up before I get to starting a movie or what not for him. As he was following me in to the Living room he saw his Ghost Trap still laying on the floor. "Mommy look!" He said to me, "The Ghost came and ate all the food!" I gave a little chuckle and said "It sure looks like it did!" As he examined his trap more closely he picked up the big orange truck and found cheerios in it. "Mommy, the Ghost put the cheerios in my truck! He didn't eat them! He played with his food!" By this time I'm doubled over laughing! And he starts laughing too! When I could finally breathe again I asked him to pick up his trap so that I could workout. After he picked everything up I got his movie on for him and got him his favorite breakfast, Pop-tarts!
Mikayla woke up around 9:30 and we started getting ready to go meet Todd to get the taxes done. While in the process of getting ready Todd is calling me about every 2 minutes asking me a different question. "I need this # from this", and "I need this code from this." AHHHHH!!!!!! Finally we got out the door, met up with Todd, got the taxes done and ate some lunch. The kids and I came home after lunch and I did my workout, then started to get the house picked up. Not long after we got home Todd came home and told me to go get cleaned up so I could go on my date. Yes folks I had a date this afternoon. And NO it was not with my husband! I called my date and told him I was on my way over. I walked across the street and went to Panera Bread with my 72yr old neighbor! George and I had a marvelous time talking over coffee and getting a break. His wife has been in the hospital for a month now with a broken hip and he's been lonely. I love my dates with my neighbor he is a perfect gentleman and treats me like royalty! It's amazing how great it feels to get a dose of some good old fashion chivalry! LOL! After we finished our coffee we went to visit his wife and then he brought me home. After being at home with the kids all day every day I've learned just how important my little breaks can be. When I come through the door I am greeted by both of my children screaming "MOMMY MOMMY!!!!" Big hugs and kisses all around. It's the best feeling in the world and for a while they listen better and respond when I say something. And as for my hubby, don't feel sad for him. For while I was out, he had a great night with the kids! They romped on the floor and watched a movie together! It was a happy day all around. :)

Just a Pile of Junk, you say!

Today was a beautiful day here! Our tempature hit 60! The sun was shinning and the kids were smiling! Ahhhh..... what a wonderful day it was! And to top it off Jonathon and Mikayla were in rare form today, being extremely creative!
Mikayla was Mommy's little girl today! About an hour before Todd got home, I went and started putting on my makeup. She came in the bathroom with me and stood on her little stool watching me. She played with my brushes and pointed to all the pretty colors! I let her put a little powder on her face and she giggled and sneezed! Then we brushed our teeth together and giggled some more. Next it was time to fix our hair! At the sight on the hair brush she ran out of the room screaming, as I had done at her age! She wasn't gone long and when she came back I was starting to remove my old finger nail polish! She wanted to be just like Mommy so i got her a cotton ball and she rubbed it over her little nails. Then her little eyes lit up when I pulled out the new finger nail polish, Ridin' Dirty! It's a dusty pink color! :) She laid her little fingers out in front of me on the table and waited, as patiently as a 2yr old can wait, for me to paint her little nails. It was a great bonding moment for me and my little Darling!
Asfor Jonathon got really involved in Ghost Hunting today! LOL! After dinner he came running in to the dinning room, "Mommy Mommy I made a ghost trap!" "Oh really?" I asked. Having finished dinner I got up and headed in to the living room and saw a pile of toys and was about to ask him to clean it up when he explained "See Mommy! This is my ghost trap! Now I just have to put down the Ghost's food and turn off the lights and it will catch the ghost!" He laid down some Cheerios and said "Now it will catch the Ghost!" The picture on the top of the blog is his Ghost trap! I thought you all might get a kick out of seeing it!
Awww... the joys of little ones! One who wants to be just like Mommy and another trying to catch Ghosts! What will they do tomorrow? Who knows but check back and find out!

Blogging is a lot more work than it seems!

Well, it's been quite some time since I have made a post on here. Sorry about that life has gotten kinda of crazy! Todd's event on Thursday was a great. I got all dressed up and had my hair done. He's now a Staff Sergent and is really excited. The kids are doing good growing in leaps and bounds ,and fighting like cats and dogs!
On Saturday for Valentine's Day the kids and Todd took me out to eat at the Olive Garden, my favorite resturant! The kids were very well behaved the entire night which was the best present ever!
Sunday we went to church and I unknowingly gave my son a panic attack! Poor little guy! everything was going along fine and dandy till I didn't meet up with him before he went to Children's Church. I got carried away talking with a friend. He was so worked up over not seeing me that he didn't want to go to Children's Church any more he just wanted his mommy and to go home! Awwwww! And that's exactly what we did.
Yesterday, I can't remember! LOL! Nothing eventful happened during the day. Then last night I had a ladies night with my MOM's group. Which was a blast to see everyone! We meet on Mondays and I haven't been able to attend this semester yet! So the new girls were confussed about my presence but hey what can I say. It was great to have a night away from the worries and hassles of being a full time mom! And nice to hear that other women struggle with the same things I do like Laundry! LOL!
There's more to come so keep checking back!

A little bit of Erin

Today was a very amazing day for me! I got my dress back from the tailors! Just in time for tomorrow's event! For those who don't know tomorrow Todd is Graduating from ALS and will become a Staff Sergent! Woot Go HUBBY! And it just so happens that it will be a formal event! I can't wait! But while I am waiting I can listen to my new Celtic Thunder CD! It is amazing, if you don't know who they are check them out online or go to your local Barnes and Noble and get the CD! It's truly amazing. Anyhoo! The kids were great today running around with me to get my dress and my CD! For all we did they were very well behaved.
After all that running around when Todd got home tried to convience him of some new paint colors for the house! Don't get me wrong I like beige as much as the next person! LOL! But I would love to finally put a personal touch on the house! But tryin to ask a color blind husband's advice on paint color is just not easy! I'll keep you posted! I really want the house to have a warm and traveled look to it. furniture and fixtures that look worn but have stood the test of time! I'm thinking here soon of going down to the antique malls and seeing what I can find to start really making our house our home! I've got loads of ideas now I just need to get them done!
Sorry I didn't have much to say about the kids, they were angels today! And well though I enjoy my babies being sweet they don't leave much to blog.

My Angels

I'm sorry that it has been a few days since my last post the kids have been keeping quiet. It's like they know I'm gonna tell the whole family about them! The past few days have been fairly uneventful.
Saturday i took Mikayla to the grocery store, and had very person that was eligable for the senior discount, stop and tell me how precious she was. She was laying the cuteness on a little thick! She was sitting in the cart sucking on some grapes and if anyone looked her way she would duck her face down and grab for my sleeve. After we had gathered all of our groceries we went and stood in line for an HOUR!!!!! That's right folks a whole 60 minutes! The whole time we were in line I was prepared for my little angel to turn on me! But she sat there the entire time eating grapes and goldfish. And when we were done and heading for the door she waved goodbye to the cashier and yelled Bye bye! Todd took Jonathon out to get a haircut after we got back. They had a good time just being boys! I have no clue what all they did they were gone for 2hrs and neither of them are talking about it. Hummmmm!
Sunday we all went to church. Mikayla got moved to a 2yr old room! She has the same teacher that Jonathon had when he was 2. And she walked right in and didn't even look back! As for Jonathon, he goes to Sunday school for the 1st hour, and the second hour he goes to Children's Church! He really enjoys it! When we got home Todd and I started doing things around the house and after about an hour I realized the house was incredibly quiet! I just knew they were up to no good. So trying to catch them in the act of whatever they were doing I tip toed in to the family room to discover, Jonathon asleep on the couch and Mikayla contently watching Curious George. Peace ruled over the house for the next 2 hours! What a way to start a week!
This morning Mikayla woke me up at 4:45am her diaper had leaked and her bed was wet. After I changed her sheets and went back to bed I realized that the lump beside my bed I thought was one of the dogs was Jonathon! He had pulled out a pillow and was laying on the floor with his favorite blanket Choo Choo! I'm not sure when he snuck in but he was so cute I didn't have the heart to take him back to his room. We were suppost to go to Mom's group today, but right before w left the house I got an e-mail that it had been cancled! Thank goodness I get e-mails on my phone or I wouldn't have had a clue! so we stayed home today and I got caught up on the house work! Which was greatly needed :) Well a crying baby is calling for her mommy so I'll write more soon.

I scream, You scream....

Hi Everyone! I so meant to get on here last night and tell you about the day but my eyes had over plans. They wanted to see a rerun on the back on my eyelids and who can argue with that! LOL!
So yesterday was a much slower day than the day before. The kids and I stayed home and cleaned house. After finishing the last load of laundry I thought it would be a good time to hop in the shower and get cleaned up. Well my kids never miss a chance to find trouble while my back is turned. So while I was drying my hair Jonathon comes in to the bathroom and says "Mommy, Sissy got me chocolate!" I answered "We don't have any chocolate." My mind at this point is going a hundred miles a minute trying to figure it out! I quickly abandoned drying my hair and went in to the family room. And sure enough she had chocolate, but not just chocolate she had an icecream sandwhich! And being the nice little sister she is, she got one for Jonathon too! There was icecream all over the couch and the floors and the dogs were having a blast cleaning it up! I guess that will be the last time I take a shower without Todd being home!
After that the day was pretty calm. Todd and I ate a nice dinner and then he did his homework and I caught up with some old friends on Facebook. And today has been pretty much the same as yesterday. Minus the icecream sandwhiches since we're out! There's more to come tomorrow. :)

Don't forget to let me know that you all are reading this.

Getting Started

Today was a very exciting day here in the Sisson household! We had lots of arrands to run today. To start the day off the kids came in and woke up just before 8am, perfect time to start the day. They take off for the other room at full speed while I on the other hand needed a few tries to get moving! I walk in to the kitchen where Jonathon is standing in his snow boots. He looks at me and says "Look Mommy it's very slippery!" And he proceeds to show me that he can slide his feet around on the floor. My first thought is a pipe bust and water is all over the floor! But the floor didn't look wet and when I put a towel down and wiped the floor it didn't get soaked. I was baffeled till I pulled myself up off the floor and looked at the counter. I left the PAM cooking spay out! Mikayla had found it first thing this morning and sprayed herself and the kitchen floor. She cleaned up in 1 bath while the kitchen floor is still hazardous after 3 moppings! After cleaning up the rest of the kitchen it was off to run our arrands.
First things first we needed food. Chik-fil-A was in the same shopping center as our first stop, so it made a great choice for lunch. As we walked in Jonathon threw his coat on the floor Mikayla went running for the playground and I tried to regain control. The kid behide the counter looked at me and with a smile asked "Did you forget the leash?" I smiled and laughed thinking it would have been nice to have one! We ate our lunch and continued on to the rest of our day. Our first stop was to buy me some shoes for the up and coming formal event. We got to the store and as we walked through the door the electricity went out sending Jonathon and Mikayla in to a screaming fit! After a brief moment of insanity the lights came back on and I found the perfect shoes!
Back in the car, we went to the tailor to get my dress fitted. This was a very interesting stop. There was a very nice older gentleman that worked there and watched the kids for me while I was changing. The kids were each given a dumdum sucker, Jonathon surprisingly chose a Coconut flavored one, while Mikayla got a watermelon. They both stood quitely and ate their suckers. When I was handing my dress over to the seamstress she complimented me on how well behaved my children were. It was a very proud moment! "Yes, they are!" ("at the moment", I added in my head.)
Then back in the car and off the Wally World! I had a secret mission to accomplish while I was there. I not only had to get groceries, I had to buy my hubby a new desk chair! I had the one I wanted to get him in mind and Woot! they still had it! I quickly ran through the rest of my mental list and got in line to check out! Everything went B E A Utifully! We made it to the car and back home and the only complaint from either of the kids was "I'm tired." from Jonathon.
When we got home I put on their favorite movie UP and got the groceries put away and then got to work on building Todd's new desk chair! It looks great! And so much better for him to sit in than his old one. And he really enjoys using it too! After a long day of running around and no naps! The kids went off to bed at 7:30 with no complaints. Now I get some well deserved time to myself and a chance to spend some quality time with my hubby.

First Blog!

I had a thought that since all our family is out of state instead of trying to email everyone I would just start a blog! It will contain pictures of the kids and all of the funny little things that they do. I may not blog everyday but I will try to keep it as current as possible and full of the kids' lives. You may not be here to watch them growing up but I can at least tell you all about it!
